What’s the role?

As a Field Service Specialist, you get to work with an astonishing team that plays a vital role in Carl Zeiss Canada Ltd. Show case your skills and experience with process enhancement.

Here’s what you’ll do:

  • The Field Service Specialist (Level III), with little or no supervision, installs, repairs, upgrades and performs preventative maintenance on specified Carl Zeiss instrumentation in the field.
  • Represents Carl Zeiss Limited at customer locations and works to achieve a high level of customer satisfaction. Responsible for all company-issued property (inventory, tools, diagnostic equipment, vehicle, etc.) in accordance with company policies.
  • Maintains a high level of professional communication with their team, customers, management, Sales and Technical Support.

Do you qualify?

  • Minimum of 5 years of previous field service experience or relevant experience in in Electronics, Fine Mechanics or Optics.
  • BS in Electronics, Industrial Mechanics or related fields preferred.
  • Theoretical understanding of basic electromechanical, electronic, and optical systems.
  • Basic understanding of troubleshooting techniques and approaches.
  • Must have very good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have strong computer skills with the ability to obtain specific certifications as required.
  • Must be self-directed, able to work independently with limited management oversight.
  • Multiple project and time management skills are required.
  • Experience with several Carl Zeiss product lines.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of schematics and complex technical data.
  • Basic understanding and knowledge of ophthalmic anatomy and diseases of the eye.

The annual pay range for this position is $80,000 – $99,000

The pay offered for this role may be influenced by factors such as job location, scope of role, qualifications, education, experience, & complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent.

This position is also eligible for a performance bonus or sales commissions.
